Travel requirements
Spanish passport holders planning to visit Thailand, should be aware of the following entry requirements:

Passport:

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Thailand.

Visa:

For tourist stays up to 60 days, a visa is not required. You can enter Thailand under the visa exemption rule. However, you must have a return ticket or a ticket to a third country and sufficient funds for your stay.

If you plan to stay longer than 60 days or for purposes other than tourism, you must apply for the appropriate visa before traveling. The Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid offers a Tourist Visa (Single Entry) through their e-Visa platform.

Upon Arrival:

Ensure you have a return ticket or a ticket to a third country. While this is a formal requirement, it is not always requested at immigration. Nonetheless, it's advisable to comply with this rule.

Vaccinations:

Mandatory: Yellow fever vaccination is required for travelers coming from areas affected by the disease. Check the list of affected countries.

Recommended: Hepatitis A and B, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, tetanus, and BCG (tuberculosis).

Important Notes:

Overstaying your permitted duration is considered a serious offense and can result in fines, detention, and deportation. The fine is 500 baht per day, up to a maximum of 20,000 baht. Authorities may also ban re-entry into Thailand.

It is illegal to reside and work in Thailand without the appropriate visa and work permit.
