Información sobre visas

Before making an Visa Application please read the Visa Information page.

Since 20 December 2021, the Philippine Embassy in Madrid launched the Online Visa Application System (OVAS).  In this regard, ALL foreign nationals who wish to apply for a 9(A) Temporary Visitor’s visa must file their visa applications online through https://www.visa.gov.ph.

Below are the step-by-step procedures to apply for 9(A) visa through OVAS:

  1. Log-in to https://www.visa.gov.ph and carefully follow the instructions in the platform;

  2. Once your online application was successfully registered in the portal, a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email;

  3. After receiving your confirmation email, please send an email to appointment.visamadridpe@gmail.com to inform us of your application for visa; and

  4. The Visa Officer will then provide you by email with an appointment schedule for your visa application and detailed instructions on the additional requirements and procedures for visa application.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • The email appointment.visamadridpe@gmail.com will only be utilized to confirm appointments of visa applicants who have already filed their application in the online portal

  • For the time being, the online portal only accommodates application for 9(A) Temporary Visitors Visa.  Application for 9(E), 9(C) and other type of visas that the Embassy is authorized to issue will still follow the manual procedure

  • The online portal is ONLY used for the INITIAL submission of the visa application.

  • Submitting the application form through the online portal DOES NOT mean your visa is already in process.

  • Applications filed in the online portal will only be APPROVED if the visa applicant has already been issued an Entry Exemption Document (EED) from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or is a spouse/parent/child of a Filipino National currently staying in the Philippines and have made prior submission of requirements as proof of their relationship with the Filipino National.

  • Processing of visa will take one (1) working day/next-day release for express processing and three (3) working days for regular processing. 

  • Visa Fees –Euro 27.00 + Euro 9.00 (for expedite processing)

  • Visa Processing Schedule – 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
    Visa Releasing Schedule – 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Foreign nationals entering the Philippines: Highlights of IATF Resolution 168

  1. A pre-departure test (RT-PCR or antigen) is no longer required ONLY IF the passenger (Filipino or foreigner), who is 18 years old and above, is fully vaccinated AND has a booster shot. Otherwise they should have a pre-departure test.

  2. For those between 12-17 years, a pre-departure test (RT-PCR or antigen) is no longer required IF the passenger is fully vaccinated. Those below 12 years are also exempted if their accompanying parents are fully vaccinated and boosted.

  3. All official NATIONAL certificates of vaccination will be accepted. Mutual recognition or reciprocity of vaccine certificatess has been removed.

  4. The insurance requirement has also been removed;

  5. The return tickets for foreign nationals is now based on their visa classification (if with visa e.g 59 days for 9a) or in accordance with visa free entry rules (i.e 30 days); Spanish nationals may enter the Philippines visa-free to stay for 30 days or less.

  6. The other IATF requirements/rules remain the same.
